Over fifteen days you will be immersed in an intensive hospital orientation curriculum rotating through:
Out Patient, Surgical, Children, Medical, Obstetrics/ Gynaecology, Laboratory, Imaging, ANC/PNC, Immunisation, Operating Theatre, Community outreach
Airport meet and greet, all transfers between airport and your hospital, local transport, 24/7 chaperone, meals, accommodation plus weekend excursion
24/7 Course Leader plus full-time Hospital Liaison Officer
From the moment you arrive until you leave you will be in the care of your Course Leader, a female high school teacher. Your Course Leader will also sleep in the same premises as the students for the duration of the course.
In addition, the hospital will provide a full time liaison officer to co-ordinate all on-site activities at the hospital.
You will intern at one of the hospitals selected from our network in Northern Tanzania in the areas around Kilimanjaro, Arusha and the National parks. You will be instructed and accompanied by expert clinical personnel, usually doctors when in the wards.
Attend introductory lectures on patient relationships and the structure of medicine
Experience hands-on practical components
Participate in a community health outreach day where vaccination and ante-natal care services are delivered
Complete a daily logbook
Receive a completion certificate and a reference from your hospital
After hours time at leisure enjoying some local attractions and experiences
You will stay in single or same-sex shared (twin) en-suite bedrooms in a hotel or guesthouse close to your hospital including all meals.

Safari to a world-famous National Park in an all-terrain game viewing vehicle, enjoy fascinating game drives and see elephants, lions, buffaloes and huge hers of zebras and wildebeest and a wide variety of plains animals.
